[FAQ] TF103C Requires PIN / forgotten password

I have owned the tablet for three days. Today when I turned it on a keyboard appeared on the screen. It wanted me to enter my PIN. I have never set up a PIN. I now can not access my tablet.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Welcome to the forum

Sounds like someone has set up the security option on your tablet for you. If you try the PIN you think it is, then after a number of failed attempts you will be prompted to log in with the Google account password you set up on your TF103 when you first set it up.

    All the best

    Unhappy lost my password

Yeah - I'm sort of super dumb.

When I go in to set up my new tablet I can't get through the intro-set up process because I don't remember my password. I've only tried about 30 variations of the 3 basic ones I use but it's not working. And when I'm in the tablet and tell it I can't remember my password it takes me to a blank chrome tab - not to a email option.

I seem to recall there's a big doc here that may tell me but just in case I can't find it, or find the info I need in it, does anybody have any advice?

This 65 yo retired woman trying to keep up with technology thanks you.

    Welcome to the forum

I have added your post to this very recent thread as we are essentially covering the same ground. (I left a temporary redirect to ensure you find it )

If you are referring to a security pin, then my answer above your post covers it. If you are referring to your Google account password, then the easiest thing to do will be to use a different device, PC probably, and then reset your password following the standard Google guidance. When you have done that, you'll be able to add the Google account you wish to use on your TF103 to the device as you go through the setup wizard.

If you do not have access to another device, then you can still go through the setup without adding a Google account. You should then be able to use the TF103 browser to follow Google's guidance to reset the password on the relevant Google account. You can then add it, by simply tapping the Play Store icon & following the prompts.

If you are talking about your router password, then sorry, there is no simple way to find that one out - but if you haven't changed it, you'll maybe find it on a sticker on your router.

Hope I have covered all the options there...

    All the best

It sounds like you are talking about your WiFi password (you state that you can get into the tablet). You may want to call your Internet provider and have them walk you through changing the password, you will need to be at the computer that is connected to the router to do this.

I just bought a new TF103 and I never set up a pin or login password - yet I can't get anywhere now because I'm being prompted to enter a password. I've tried every password I've ever used and none work - not my google account, email accounts, etc. And I've tried 20 attempts and it doesn't send me to google authentication either.

What can I do to factory reset without being able to get anywhere!!! I can't get to settings so that's not an option.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
