Not able to read or write in micro sd

I've just bought TF103CE and installed a micro SD, but it seems that I can't read or write in the micro SD. When I try to do it via ES file explorer, it says that I first have to grant access to the external memory. But when I try to do this, following the instructions, it is not shown in the menu. The tablet came w/ Android 5.0. Can anyone help me with this? Also, I cannot find the Android file manager (who may be the responsible for granting access to the SD).

    Welcome to the forum

You should be able to read the microSD OK. Certainly from within the normal stock Android Apps. writing to it might be an issue.
You should look in the App drawer for the file manager app.

You also need to read up on the functionality (or lack thereof) of external storage in modern versions of Android.

If, having done all that, try...
    1. Checking the card in a PC to ensure it is working
    2. A Factory Reset from settings and working from a base stock install

If none of that helps, you might have a duff card reader in hardware and need to return the device for replacement.

Yep, experiencing the same problem. Even with the Asus File manager app, when you try to grant access you get a "failed to grant access" message to be able to write to an external SD card. You can only read from it. The only thing I've successfully done in regards to writing to the SD card, is be able to let the camera app save pictures to the external SD card.

On my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the Samsung "My Files" file browser app allows you to write to the external SD card, but no other file browser app you install from the play store can. Asus needs to be able to do that with their File Manager app for Asus devices.

A step backwards for the Android OS, which is a real PITA.
