Touch Screen problem, options I have what would you choose?

Yesterday I found what I thought was a great deal on an "Open Box" TF103CX tablet from my local Micro Center retail store. The tablet had some Micro Center stickers on it, which indicated it had passed their technical inspections. It was $58 which seemed like a great price after I looked around at what it is listed for at other online sources and retail outlets. The tablet is in new condition.

I got it home, did a compete factory restore and then put it on the charger to fully charge overnight. Today, I started to set it up where I noticed a top portion of the screen in landscape mode does not respond to touches. I can work around this by rotating the tablet whenever I need to press an area that has no response but it's pretty frustrating, especially when entering in text with the onscreen keyboard.

MC has a 15day no questions asked return policy for open box items and it states the 1 year manufacturer warranty still applies. So I can return it and get my money back through MC but then I would lose out on what seems like a great deal for this tablet. I'm considering reaching out to Asus warranty and go through that route to attempt to get it repaired although, I've read some have had not so good experiences going down that path. I could always just bite the bullet and try to deal with the frustrations and just keep it, taking into consideration I got it at a good price. However, will aggravate me over more time using it.

Here is the area of the screen which is non responsive to touch.

What would you do? Any other options to consider?

Well, I voted for the Asus RMA - but I would certainly check that it was 100% possible to do so within the "return to store" window.

I love the fact that you keep buying these open box bargains, btw...

You and me both!!! The only one complaining so far is my wife who keeps asking me, why do you need so many Asus tablets, you already own 10 other tablets? I have to explain, I don't "need" another one, but I like the added conveniences of having additional tablets. I've essentially taken the approach of instead of owning a single "mobile" device to own multiple mobile devices and therefore, making them stationary by placing them everywhere I typically use them. For example, I watch Netflix at night before going to bed, so keep one always on my nightstand. Go work out, I keep one in my gym bag. Use a tablet at work, leave it at work instead of having to carry one between work and home. When I can find deals like this on them, then I say "why not?", the more the merrier.

I'm currently leaning towards an RMA as well, considering I have other equivalent tablets and don't really "need" this one. So I'm in no real hurry in waiting for an RMA repair. I bought this TF103C with the intent to keep it in my gym bag for watching movies and playing music while working out. I can use my TF701t ($63 open box ) for that which is intended to be my leave on the nightstand tablet while I'm waiting for the TF103C to go through RMA.

My T100TA (windows) tablet is turning into my leave at work mobile tablet and then there's the assortment of Memo Pad's laying around on every table of the house. I've been keeping my eye out for a T300 Chi open box steal, for a larger screen upgrade as well.
