    Strange.

I decided to go ahead and do it but I can't seem to get the install started. Using the information in post #23.

I downloaded the WW version since I've got ww-2.2.33.144. (UL-K010-WW-12_10_5_11-user)
I downloaded and unpacked the zip file. Got another zip file with all the upgrade info in it.
Placed the folder into the Root SD Card storage area.

I don't get the software update notification.

I tried placing both the extracted zip file and the pre-extracted zip file into the storage area and still don't get teh new update notificaton that would allow me to install the OS.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    Same thing here.
I just did a 5.0 reset and then noticed this

    UL-K010-WW-2_2_33_144-user.zip

but can't get it reognised even in recovery mode or on my sd card, and - like yourself - I tried both the zip and an uncompressed folder.

In the instructions however there is mention of uncompressing the downloaded zip and then copying the other zip from within, however there is no zip in the uncompressed folder???

    Any suggestions please?

    Thanks.

The only way to do a manual update on the TF103 is to follow the specific guidance for that model in both our guide thread (Master Help Guide) and also in this stickied thread in this very section. As the SoC in the TF103 is Intel based, the process is different... You have to use Droidboot or Fastboot.

    Many thanks for the help.
Unfortunately it hasn't got me any further forward.

I managed to get to the fastboot screen and have

    "Fastboot command waiting..."

and fastboot in command prompt in windows sees my tf103c, but...

    when I try

    "fastboot update UL-K010-WW-2_2_33_144-user.zip"

    I get

    "archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
    archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt"

Has anyone succeeded with this update?

Is there a reason it isn't available OTA?

    Many thanks for your help!

Tried asus uk support live chat today - twice - absolutely useless!!!

They won't give update advice for a manual update on their website!

I questioned why it wasn't OTA and they didn't bother answering that one...

    NOT GOOD!

Okay, I eventually figured out how to get into recovery after reading and rereading all these posts.

Maybe this should be added to the sticky?

As opposed to other suggestions of holding the volume + and power together, on mine I had to hold volume - and the power button, after which in the fastboot screen getting into recovery wasn't a problem.
But then I did have to hold the power button down while quickly pressing and releasing the volume + button to get to the recovery screen.

Slightly different but enough to keep me going in circles - maybe this will help someone else?

Anyway my problem now is that the asus firmware update
    UL-K010-WW-12_10_5_11-user.zip
    won't verify properly.

I've tried it from 2 different windows 7 machines and both times it starts and then fails at about 47%.

I have tried downloading fresh copies from the various international sites but still no luck.

    Any suggestions please?

My tf103c has nothing on it except a clean factory 5.0 as yet and I used the recovery screen to wipe the cache partition as well.

I took these 2 shots of one of the recovery logs -

does this throw any light on what's wrong?

You won't be able to install this update. It's actually a KitKat build and you aren't able to downgrade. If you'll look on the firmware page of Asus you'll see the warning for build 12_10_5_11. Open the zip your trying to install and look at the buildprop.

Thanks (I think) for the reply.

I had a look at the firmware page again to check what you're saying but I can't see any direct reference to Kit Kat although this:

Note1: Before updating to software version TW_V12.10.5.11, please make sure device system version already updated to TW_V2.2.33.145 first.

would seem to suggest you're right.
I couldn't find any reference in the build.prop either though?

It's very confusing that asus decides to put a Kit Kat update out 3 months after Lollipop (which a lot of us were waiting over a year for!)

Another strange thing is that looking closely at the Lollipop update on the firmware page I noticed its changed from the original 2015/12/25 to 2016/01/06 - any reason why they should have done that?

Was there an error in the original release?

Would be really nice if they could find their way to releasing at least a 5.1 update!

This tablet has been abandoned by asus as it left the factory!

There is no reference to 4.4.2 on their page. Open the zip and look in the system folder for the build.prop, you'll see the newest update is 4.4.2. On their page, for the lollipop update (not available OTA), it specifically states that you will not be able to downgrade after installing.
