I was just reading some posts on the forum last week about cards becoming corrupt or unreadable for no apparent reason. Files not backed up are files not yet lost as Droidbound would say.
    Exactly!!!! 😂
Storage is cheap - memories are priceless! Plus, there are so many free cloud storage options around...
I bet even in Wales they WiFi once in a while. Janner would know more about that ;-)

Yes, they have wifi & 3G/4G connectivity - even in Wales

Be prepared for RAIN in Wales & the north of England though Katharine - it rains in those regions all year round - you'll hopefully get some reasonable weather as well, though. I'll mention a few noteworthy places below - just Google them for further information/exact locations. If you like castles particularly, then you might want to look into membership of "English Heritage" - but to be honest, one ruined castle is pretty much the same as another. Now, period houses are another matter. For that you need the National Trust. Even 2/3 visits each will more than pay for a membership.

If you get to the Lake District / Northumbria, try to fit in a visit to Cragside, another National Trust location - very beautiful & very interesting as well. If any in your party have any form of military interest, then in Staffordshire you'll find RAF Cosford - a HUGE free attraction, run by the RAF which includes a totally amazing array of aircraft & militaria from the past 100 years.

In Wales, 2/3 things spring to mind. Cardiff is well worth a visit - both the centre and Cardiff Bay Area. The castle - take it or leave it. Pembrokeshire is very, very beautiful & is easily a match for the Californian coastline (though less sunny ). Thirdly, if you can, between Cardiff & Newport is the national coalmine "museum" for Wales. "Up in the Valleys" called "The Big Pit". You get a tour of the mine by ex-miners & the story of coal is pretty much the story of Wales. Free entry, I believe. Oh yes, Caernarfon (Caernarvon) castle would be of interest - it is where Prince Charles received his "investiture" as Prince of Wales.

Hope that helps & all the best
