    rom upgrade question

It has been about a year since I updated the system on my Transformer.

I am running Android 4.0.3 with the Revolver Rom, 4.1.1. I have clockwork mod installed.

I have now downloaded Revolver 4.2.1, but I can't remember the process and I have not been able to locate a tutorial.

Should I be able to upgrade to 4.2.1 without wiping my Transformer?

If anyone has a link to a step-by-step for upgrading, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

You should be a me to upgrade without wiping.

    Boot to CWM.

Wipe cache, wipe Davlik cache (located in the advanced menu).

Install the zip (install menu, choose zip)

Once the install is complete, wipe cache and Davlik again.

    Reboot.

thanks frederuco. followed your instructions and upgrade seems to have gone off without a hitch. Revolver now says it is 4.2.1 Tablet system still says Android 4.0.3 though. Does that sound correct, or should Android have been updated as well? I read some older dated posts that said Jellybean was not available for Revolver, so I am guessing that is still the case.
Do you think Revolver is still a good choice, or do you suggest changing to a ROM that support Jellybean?

That is correct, Revovler is based off of the stock Asus ROM, so it will likely never move past Android 4.0.3.

    Here is my suggestion:

Flash TWRP using a zip file (I would use the beta 2.5.0.0 or 2.6.0.0). I am running the 2.6.0.0 with no issues, even restoring old backups. Both downloads are in that thread.

Backup your current revolver using TWRP. Also, backup your apps using Titanium (unless you have the pro version that supports restoring from nandroid backups).

Try a JB ROM. I have to say, they are HANDS DOWN faster than 4.0.3. Keep in mind, some of the stock Asus apps will be lost (MyLibrary, Polaris Office, etc.) However, they still have full functionality.

I recommend KatKiss. There is one that is Android 4.2.2 and one that is Android 4.3.

If you do not like the missing apps for some reason, restore back to Revolver.
