Where is serial number?
My Transformer has taken a turn for the worse.... big time. Dead, I'd say. Now, I need the serial number but I can't seem to find one on the machine itself.
I have looked and looked, but I can't find it.
Please let me know where it is supposed to be. And what if I don't find one?? What does THAT mean??

It's on the box it came in and on a sticker near the charging port.

I do know it was on the box the Transformer came in, otherwise I haven't noticed it anywhere else.

If you registered it on vip.asus.com, you can get your serial number there as well.

The serial number would be on the Tablet - near the charging port at the bottom.
It is a number printed in black on a transparent sticker.
It would look something like S/N:B60KASxxxx
On the keyboard dock it would be on the bottom edge close to the touch pad again it would be printed in black on transparent sticker.
Unless you have removed all stickers from all over the tablet, you should still have them. Apart from this, the number is also printed on the box that your Tablet came in - but you might have disposed of the card board box soon after you got the device.

Thanks - I didn't think about the box. I have it - thank you. I hope the company who imports these here will help me out with my dead transformer.... I like it too much to give it up.

I want to point out that my system reports a far different serial number in the Android "About" settings than was on the box/case. The power port where the S/N sticker is placed sits inside the keyboard dock and I assumed the number reported was the same as was on the case. It was only after a very frustrating attempt to register at vip.asus.com that I undocked and looked. Doh!
FWIW, I wanted to register so that I could be notified of firmware updates. I have never been notified of over the air (OTA) updates, and a manual check never works either. I have to wait until it is posted on the website, and that is many versions old. Registering seems to have had no effect, darn it.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum.
Patience will pay off, you will get the notifications at some point. Try a shutdown and restart then check again. If not today, maybe tomorrow.

Try going to Settings - Applications - Manage - All - DMClient - Force Close/Clear Data/Clear Cache and then reboot.
Next, go to Settings - About - Check for update
See if this triggers the OTA update (notification will show by the clock if this works)

Thank you. Patience has been my method so far, but it is annoying that OTA doesn't work, and never has.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work. Yet. Patience.... :-)
