The times on the Calendar app are screwy

    Hi,

The times on the Calendar app are screwy

For example, I've got an appointment that's really scheduled for 10AM. The calendar shows it in the 5PM slot.

When I click on it, the details correctly say 10AM as it should.

    Something is screwy here.

The same calendar and same appointments show correctly on my PC.

I went to Settings/Date & Time and it shows my time zone as "Eastern Daylight Savings" GMT-4.

Well the Eastern Daylight Savings part is correct; but it should be at GMT-5 not GMT-4!

Does the TF adjust for DST by adding an hour to the GMT offset?

Even if that's the case, the calendar is off by 7 hours, not one.

    What's going on?

    Thanks

Some devices do change the offset to -4 rather than -5 to adjust for DST but off 7 hours IS very strange. 12 I could understand a little better.

Iam having the same issue. When I enter events in outlook or on my evo4g they are showing up on my calendar in the wrong tome slot. I am using Google calendar sync.

    Welcome to the forum

By looking at these posts it would seem that a time zone is set incorrectly somewhere, not just a location setting. Or maybe it is location. There must be a reasonable explanation.

First, check Settings - Date & Time to ensure this is set properly to the correct time zone.

Next, open the Calendar. If all events are still shifted , tap the menu key in the top right, then Settings and there is a checkbox for "Use Home Time Zone" and you can select a time zone to use. Even if it is not your home, you can adjust it so they are shown properly by selecting a time zone one before or after your timezone to shift it by an hour.

I want to say that I had issues with Google Calendar Sync from Outlook to Google mainly regarding old recurring appointments not showing in Google. Google does not seem to care to update it, so I went and got gSyncit for $20. It syncs your contacts, calendars, tasks, notes from outloook to Google. You can also sync to Toodledoo for tasks, and Evernote for notes. Well worth the money, and works great. http://www.fieldstonsoftware.com/software/gsyncit3/

Heck, I even bought a 2nd one for my Wife to use to sync her work calendar with her iPad and iPhone.
