Transformer APPS that help extend tablet/Keyboard Dock Battery life
Several users have reported they use various techniques to maximize their Transformer Tablet and/or Keyboard Dock battery life. There also appears to be a way to extend battery life using Transformer applications (apps).
Please use this thread to discuss (only) apps for this purpose.
Once such app is: Auto Airplane Mode.
This app automatically enables airplane mode whenever the screen is turned off, and is therefore useful to save battery life when you are not using your Transformer.
The app can be downloaded from the Android Market here:

Please feel free to share your experience with this app and/or other apps you may know about.

Auto Airplane Mode is one of the Must-Have apps on my list.
Another one that I use a bit is called ScreenFilter which allows you to cut the screen brightness down below the minimum level. I find this handy in dark rooms when trying to read a book and find it is too bright. This helps cut screen brightness and battery consumption.

OK....I ran a test the past 24 hours - please note - the unit was left on in "standby" mode (screen off) - not fully powered down (turned off). Both the Transformer and Keyboard Dock started out yesterday at 100% charged.
Today's readings -
Tablet battery level - 100%
Keyboard Dock (KBD) battery level - 94%
Observations:
1) This would seem to indicate that the KBD continues to keep the Transformer Tablet charged at 100% (as designed), even when in standby mode, and despite no other applications running....although Auto Airplane Mode seems to indeed "turn off" other apps running in the background when in "standby mode".
2) The standby unit will retain enough of a charge in standby mode (with Auto Airplane Mode app activated) so that charging is only needed perhaps after 5-7 days.
I may retry the same test....this time with the unit starting charged again at 100% for Tablet + KBD, but this time...fully powered down.

Battery Test seeking Maximum Battery Storage using Auto Airplane Mode.
- I started a final test with my docked TABLET (both the Tranformer TABLET + KEYBOARD DOCK battery levels began at 100%).
- Auto Airplane Mode was left running.
- I powered down the docked Transformer to "OFF".
- I unplugged the AC power to the docked units, so everything was on battery only.
After 24 hours in this condition, I checked my battery levels and have the results here.[/QUOTE]
Tablet battery level - 99%
Keyboard Dock (KBD) battery level - 99%
Observations:
1) This would seem to indicate that in POWER OFF MODE the DOCKED Transformer Tablet holds MOST OF IT'S BATTERY POWER .
2) Auto Airplane Mode left running prior to POWER DOWN assures that no (background or other) apps will be left running at that time.
3) This is the best way to assure MAXIMUM BATTERY POWER with the AC Power disconnected.
Since I travel with my Transformer regularly for work and other trips... doing a full charging (up to 100% on the docked Transformer) and then doing a POWER DOWN to OFF prior to leaving assures the combined/docked unit will retain a strong battery life. Left UNUSED at that point...I would anticipate not requiring another AC Adapter charge for up to 5-7 days easily if sitting dormant.

I use and recommend Auto Airplane Mode App.
I have set mine to "turn off" my wifi between 1am and 7am therefore saving 6 hours of battery "wifi searching" power.
This has increased my available battery power by about 10%.
Age is our worst enemy - I know because I have already lost the battle !!

Although I have mentioned it in ohter thread, I would like add BatteryBooster here: https://market.android.com/details?i...ybooster&hl=en It has many tweaks as to what you want turned off and on when you lock and unlock your TF. Also gives you all kinds of stats about your battery.

How do you set the time. I don't see that option in the app.

There is 2 auto airplane mode apps in my opinion the one by don is better as it turns off wifi when your screen is off which saves more battery than any app out there

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Auto Airplane app is necessary since a recent (Honeycomb) update, you can have WiFi turned off and on when you power your TF off and on. Saying that, I still use it!
