Deleting stock/preloaded music/photo files from new Transformer
Hi y'all. I've been trying to delete the six music files and dozen or so photos that come preloaded on the Transformer with no luck. A search of this forum and others have not given me a solution. Really want to keep my tablet clean, so I'd appreciate any help!

It may require rooting to delete the stock files but have you tried deleting them using the file manager?
Current Devices:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - iPad 4 - Samsung Galaxy S4
-
Yes, both the files within the folder AND the folder itself. No luck. Will not root my Transformer; I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to technology!

Astro file manager will let you delete them. LINK

Then I would really encourage you to not worry about those files. Most of us here have added a micro SD card for storing music, video, and pictures on and we keep the Transformer's internal storage free for the OS, apps, and app data and I believe I have around 9gb free so I'm good to go!

I just tried it and deleted one of the preloaded songs.
It does work.
The stock file manager will delete them too.
Check the box next to the item and the dialog box gives you a delete option.

It sounds like the OP just wasn't doing something right. I'm not on my TF to verify but you say it will give you the box to check and the option to delete and that's good enough for me. Thanks Mike.
Ok Gideon_S like I said way back in my first post and Mike said in his, just use a file manager and it should delete the songs that you don't want. You can do the photos the same way or just look at them in Gallery and if you press and hold them (I believe) you will get the delete option as well. I'm not sure but I do know you can delete from Gallery.

I don't know what i am doing wrong. Have done everything youall have said, inluding using the Astro file manager and nothing is working. Coming up with a 'delete faied' message at the bottom of the screen. it is not that i need thepace on the transformer, I just want to get rid of these terrible songs!!

I get the same 'delete faied' message, although I haven't tried Astro. It's quite annoying to have music that, I don't want, start playing whilst I'm using my Bluetooth Stereo Headset and I try to pause/play a movie. Need to figure out how to stop that happening anyway, but would be better if I could just delete the music files in the first place.
