Question What to do to optimize my battery during sleep mode?

    Hi,

I kind of like to use the sleep mode on my TF cause i use it very often but for short periods of time; so shutting down the TF and starting is annoying if i just want to check something fast... so, normally i kill anything i have open (using the Advance Task Killer program) and put it into sleep.

Normally, from 100% goes down to 25% just from 8pm to 8am (during the night). Is that normal? (undocked)
i know it should be 8hrs of normal use, but since its in sleep, i thought would take longer before draining.

WIFI is off when screen is off

Anyone knows any application that could trace battery use over time, maybe what application was using it, etc..etc..?

    Regards,
    Vini

The 3 biggest drains on the battery are Screen, WiFi and Bluetooth. Even though you have WiFi set to off with screen off, some apps (IM programs like Talk and Skype) will keep it alive to keep you online. Also, GMail an Email check from time to time, along with many other processses (market updates). To keep my tablet ready to go, I got in the habit of putting it in airplane mode when putting it to sleep. A bit of a pain, but it saves the battery, I probably drain 1-2% per hour max.

I found an app called Auto Airplane Mode that will put the TF in Airplane mode any time it goes to sleep. Saves me a step and works great.

Thanks to Fred I use Auto Airplane on my Infuse phone and it's great. And he has nailed the 3 biggest drains in the TF. But I have found that an occasional full power down and start-up has conserved lots of battery on the TF. I have probably gotten an additional 10%+ run time doing that.

Using auto airplane mode I've managed to get 4 days of use from a full charge to 15% pretty amazing considering I use full brightness and spend most of my time either playing games or on YouTube

I've found that with the battery saving mode on, wifi and bluetooth off, my tablet will lose about 1% over night.

Auto Airplane Mode really does the job. Use Juice Defender and tone down brightness to about 85-90 percent to still achieve that magnificent looking display. Also: although Auto Airplane Mode automatically disables your tablet's wifi, it still gets activated when you accidentally press the power button so download a wifi on/off widget. turn off wifi before going to sleep mode. that should maximize your battery.

I have beautiful widgets toggle buttons on my homescreen. One for wifi and one for airplane mode. When I'm done, I hit the widget, goes from red to green, and airplane mode on. The only drawback is when it wakes up, you have to put airplane mode off. Sometimes I wonder why I'm not on wifi. And I'm in airplane mode still.

Interesting. The Auto Airplane Mode app I use isn't activated via widget. It's just an app I launch and enable then it just automatically puts my tablet to AP mode when I hit the sleep button. No need to turn on/off...

Auto function is better. I'll have to try auto airplane.

I just installed auto airplane mode. It works great and now my beautiful widgets still work with correct indication lights. It works hand in hand with auto airplane mode.
