    transformer went dead, any suggestions?

I received the transformer Monday and it has been working fine. Today I left it plugged in to my computer via the USB port. when I came home, I went to the computer to shut it down to remove it, Windows did not see it, ( which seems to happen when it is sleeping).
I unplugged the transformer, saw the desktop screen with the password (it is on) line. then the screen went dark and I can't get it to come back on.
I tried charging to the wall for an hour.
    It is completely dark.

Should I try to open it up and remove-wait-replace the battery?

Kevin Press and hold the power button for 12-15 seconds then release and see if that clears it up. If necessary press and hold the power button the normal 4-6 seconds and release. If that doesn't work you may need to repeat the process.

    Don't repost.

Press and hold the power button and the volume down key for a few seconds.

Please explain this procedure. Do you do this while the device is on or off? How long do you hold them both? Do you let both buttons go together? etc...

    Thanks

You do this while the device is off and you hold down both buttons for several seconds then let go of them at the same time and your device should boot up.

Transformer 2 weeks old, working great. Today I pressed the power button to come out of standby. Lock screen displayed (No lock code installed), screen completely unresponsive to any commands. I have tried all of the methods for restart, hard reset, etc to no avail. Current status is welcome display screen requesting startup. No response to any touch commands. ASUS support is only reachable via email and no follow-up after 48 hrs. I was ready to return the Ipad 2 I was also evaluating after earlier returns of the disappointing galaxy tab and the Xoom, but not now. IMHO the whole process with android tablet manufacturers and their convoluted introduction, distribution, and support is a joke. I have never been a big fan of Apple but they are winning this battle so far. BTW, before anyone suggests the docking station will resolve the problem, I have this thought: If I could find a docking station (which I can't) for an additional $150, why should I have to buy that option to have a functional tablet?

Had mine for 8 dys, suddenly it turned into a brick. I had tried the 4-6 seconds on the power button several times. Wasn't till I found this page that I bothered with much longer. 12 seconds on the power button got it going again for me.

my transformer refuses to turn on, tried every suggestion!

A few days ago I was reading a review of Samsung Galaxy Tab at the Fox News website through the browser on my transformer and the screen just froze, became unresponsive. I then turned the device off by pressing the power button for about 10 seconds. Now, the device refuses to boot. I have tried pressing the power button in all sorts of ways: together with volume down button for 10, 15, 20 seconds; power button alone for 5, 10, 15 seconds; repeatedly pressed power button several times. Nothing worked. The screen is completely blank now. When the tablet went dead, it had about 80% charge, but since it is off now, I don't know how to drain the battery, it could take many days! Any further advice?
