Touchpad not working after battery drain RMA. Help!

    Hi,

I got my keyboard dock back from RMA today, it went in to fix the battery drain problem.

Unfortunately I can't get the touchpad to work at all. I've tried pressing the key to activate/deactivate the touchpad and the icon comes up on the screen but it seems to make no difference. The keyboard did do a firmware update as soon as I connected it up.

Anybody got any ideas or am I going to have to send it back to Asus for another 3 weeks?

    Thanks guys.

    Hard Reset:
Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and the "Down" volume button together until after the normal start up screen appears and is joined by some small print at the top of the screen then let them both go. After a few seconds you should see a couple of shapes in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data" and "Android". Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again and let it reboot. If you own the dock be sure and do this with the dock connected.
    Current Devices:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition - Dell Venue 11 Pro Bay Trail (On Order) - LG Optimus G Pro

Thanks for the suggestions, have followed the instructions for a hard reset and it hasn't made any difference to the touchpad but I now have a solid white light lit up next to the CAPS LOCK key. Any idea what this means?

Is your Touchpad still not working even pressing the 4th top row key from the left?

No, the 4th top row key works and toggles the icon when pressed, ie off and on, but the touchpad and left and right buttons are all still dead. Maybe they damaged something while it was back at the factory? The battery drain issue is now ok. IRONY!

That's discouraging. Most of us have had such good luck with the RMA of our Docks. But thankyou for not going ballastics like a couple people have done. It does sound like it may have to go back, that really sucks!

Sorry - but it's pretty much sounding like you have a defective unit.

Looks like you'll have to call the RMA folks and report it to proceed with them on a repair/replace process.
