first time charging

Hello this is my first post got the transformer yesterday. Just having a few little niggles getting going I connected the two sections together keypad and screen and placed the two units together on charge going into the keypad power slot on the side. I left this charging for over 8 hours even though the led went green before hand. Today I thought I would use it thinking both power batteries would be charged but just got a glow from the screen and no software loading messages for Asus logo. Know I have taken the screen off and started charging this part. Is it best leaving it again for 8 hours to fully charge and how do you know if the screen part is charged as my screen glows a bit then goes dark after a few seconds. Thank you for any tips here as worried that the screen end maybe faulty. cheers James

James it sounds like you have it set to turn off the screen after 15 or 30 seconds and that may be nice on battery life but would drive me batty! Go to settings - time out and pick 2 minutes or 5 minutes or whatever you like. While there you may decide to turn off the auto brightness feature and that is under brightness. I personally don't like it because I want to determine the brightness level and I don't want it to adjust every time something blocks the sensor on the screen.

If you tap in the bottom right corner of the tablet it will bring up some info and in that info it will let you know how much battery charge you have left. But no you should not charge it for 8 hours anymore just charge it till it is full.

I have not been able to turn the device on so have not been able to get into the settings as yet.

press and hold the power button for 12-15 seconds and let go. It should turn on after that. If it doesn't, then press and hold the power button for 4-6 seconds and let go and see if that wakes it up.
