    Cannot download from the Market

    I just purchased my TF this week and I am very frustrated that I haven't been able to download apps from the Market for some reason. I have tried to download both from the Market directly and the web-based Market, but have had no luck. All of the apps I was attempting to download are free (i.e. Google Docs, Skype, and a live wallpaper). In the Market it indicates that all of these apps are compatible with my TF. When I click on the app, the install/download progress bar just keeps running, but nothing is actually ever installed on the TF. If I go to the Purchases page in the market, it shows that the installation of the apps has been completed, but they never show up.

    The TF firmware is fully updated to 3.2. I have a wireless router that was provided free with my Verizon DSL service (I believe it is a Westell 7500).

    I unsuccessfully tried several suggestions that I have seen on forums, including the following:

    (1) turning wifi off and on again;
    (2) clearing data from the market all and download manager in the application manager menu (suggested by Market support rep);
    (3) trying to set up port forwarding on my router's settings page (although I'm not sure if I did it correctly); and
    (4) turning off all firewall protections on my router.

    The functionality of the TF is obviously hampered when you can't download any apps. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Yes, I have seen this a couple of times where the progress indicator just keeps on whirling and "waiting to install", but nothing installs.

    What I found cleared the problem was to back out of that page and then retry to download/install.

    It seems to work OK then!!

    Just tried and had the same with the free app "Cordy"

    Hit the back button and retried to install again and it installed OK.

    Note, it does not do it all the time, so no great problem for me!!

    Also looks like a fun game as well, so thanks for posting because I would not have tried it otherwise

    Hello and welcome to the Forum. 14 is correct as I have had this problem many times as well. Sometimes I had to reset the download 2 and 3 times.
    Let us know how you do with the download.

    I ran into an interesting situation when I tried to take advantage of the sale on the Docs 2 Go Key at Amazon. Fail after fail after fail even after a restart. I finally figured out that it didn't see, (recognize) the D2G I had on my system already because it had been downloaded from the Android Market. The only way to install it was to uninstall the Market version, then install the exact same app from Amazon. Just a tad aggravating.

    Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, I have also tried the re-download the apps several times. I tried cancelling the download and starting fresh. I tried this repeatedly over the course of several days both through the Market and the Market's browser site. Still no luck.

    I will give it another go tonight and see, but I'm not very hopefully.

    I'm really thinking there may be a problem with the router, because it wouldn't let any imap mail get through to my iphone either.

    Any additional suggestions would be great.

    I have a suggestion that might help. There is an app on the Android Market called App Cache Cleaner that does not require rooting as some do. That just might clean up some leftovers and allow it to work again. It can't hurt.

    If you can't install that app, feel free to go to settings > applications > manage applications > all > market and clear download/cache. You will probably have to log back into your account but it might fix the problem.

    Still no luck with apps + Google Talk won't sign in

    I have tried every option I can think of or have read about.

    I tried a full had reboot/reset and nothing changed.

    I've een emailing back and forth with an android market rep and still don't have a solution there either. The rep said that I needed to log into Google Talk repeatedly so that Google's servers would recognize and connect with my machine, but I also can't sign into to Google Talk either. The progress whille just spings and the sign in never goes through.

    Any other suggestions?

    I had this problem and found that if I went to (Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - All - Market) and cleared the cache it fix my issue.
