    Ebay Links

When I tap on an ebay link on this forum, it doesn't take me to the page, but to a browsing catagory page. Any way to fix this?

First, what browser are you using? Second, is your browser set up to act as a desktop or tablet browser? (Called UserAgent String in the preferences)

I'm using the native browser and have igoogle as my home page, the same home page that I have on my desktopPC. I looked at all the settings and couldn't seem to find anything referring to desktop or tablet. Couldn't find anything called preferences, just settings and igoogle settings. I've got ebay as a bookmark on my igoogle page, and it takes me right to it, but when I tap a link in another webpage, like these forums, it takes me to the browse categories page.

I did a quick test with the stock browser on a link to Ebay. If the browser is set for tablet, it redirects to the mobile site (and the categories).

To fix this, in the upper right hand corner of the browser are 4 lines. Tap these and a menu appears. Go to Settings, then Advanced and go to the bottom of the list. 3rd from the bottom is an entry called "User agent string" tap this and change it from Tablet to Desktop. Then back arrow (lower left corner of the screen) back to the google page and you should be able to open the ebay links.

Rescue Squad to the rescue! Thanks, Frederuco, that did it. I thought Tapland was the best forum on the net, but I think this one is the new champ!
