Welcome to the forum member 7000! What type account is it, yahoo, gmail or what?
Mine is yahoo and I think this is how I set it up.
Mine are setup so I'm trying to remember. You enter the email address and password and hit next. I never hit manual.
Then it asks you to give a nick name if you want and I call it Mick
And it wants you to give it the out going name that people will get so i give it Mickey Little
And hit next and I think it's done

The buttons are greyed out until you enter an email address and a password. You can hit next and it will try automatic settings. You can also go onto manual if you desire. Most popular email services will automatically set up the settings automatically.

This is Yahoo mail. Well I know Yahoo has had email issues since last week Wed. I have followed there instructions for pop mail and Outlook 2007 (i am a premium mail user) which allows me to use Outlook. I have tried the sugesstions here and it cannot sign into the incoming server. I have even downloaded the Yahoo mail app and with the correct sign in and password that app wont sign in. Yahoo is simply messed up. The only way i can get into yahoo mail is direct sign into yahoo online. My android phone is exactly in the same position as my Asus tablet. I even found some mobile mail settings someone posted onlin: Mobile mail setup:
1. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned off
2. Press the E-Mail icon (the default Android E-Mail application)
3. Enter your Yahoo/BT address and password
4. Press "Manual Setup" in the lower left hand corner
5. For "Incoming Server Settings" set the IMAP server to "imap.mobile.mail.yahoo.com" and the Port to 143
6. For "Outgoing Server Settings" set the SMTP Server to "smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com" and the Port to 587
7. Check "Require sign-in" and press Next
8. Select how often your phone will check for Email, and choose default options
9. Give the account a name and set your display name for outgoing messages
These also dont work...I am stuck...HELP

Lucky you! I tried both the previous tips and neither worked. Any other ideas?

LOL...did you try deleting the account and adding it again? I think you have tried this, so that may not help.
