    Dock problems for a newbie

    Hi all

    Had my TF for a week now and all was good. However after the 3.2 update mydock is not recognised. Fully inserted, charged, etc. When connected no mobile dock version available and the battery status is greyed out with a ? Mark.

    Any ideas?

    Welcome to the forum. Have you tried a simple shut down and restart? If so then I suggest you do a Hard Reset as follows.

    Hard Reset:
    Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and the "Down" volume button together for 6-10 seconds and let them both go. After a few seconds you should see a couple of shapes in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data" and "Android". Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again and let it reboot. If you own the dock be sure and do this with the dock connected.

    Two things I've discovered:

    TF freezes when cold boot performed in dock and when a normal power up performed. Both fine minus dock.

    No joy.

    Try the cold boot with the dock not connected and see if that helps.

    It didn't help! This 3.2 bug is a bugger. There was a notice posted earlier this week that Asus is supposed to issue another update sometime next week to fix the messes that their premature release of 3.2 is causing. But the tough part is being sure that, that is what is to blame for your issue.

    Cold without dock hasn't made any difference.

    What's a CMR out of curiousity?

    CMR = Classic Mickey (hard) Reset. Inside joke started in this thread: http://www.transformerforums.com/for...-pdf-file.html

    Sounds like it is ether a defective Dock or TF. One user had this happen and it turned out to be the tablet, not the dock. I would try your retailer if possible to see if you can exchange it.

    Contacted Asus helpdesk for opinion and after that back to retailer if terminal.
