    Links won't open

    Hello all,

Sorry if this has been answered before. I searched on this site and couldn't find anything on it.

Installed the 3.2 update and now when I'm looking at gmail i can't open links. When I press on the link the screen will dim and nothing happens. This also happens when I'm in a browser. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I always suggest doing a hard reset right after any kind of update. Here are the directions just in case.
    Hard Reset:
Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and the "Down" volume button together for 6-10 seconds and let them both go. After a few seconds you should see a couple of shapes in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data" and "Android". Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again and let it reboot. If you own the dock be sure and do this with the dock connected.

Another thing to try is after you click the link and the screen dims to rotate the tablet 90 degrees. It should then pop up with the menu to choose what to open the link with.

Some users are having an issue with this, but it is not across the board. Some users have indicated that the Anti-Virus is causing this. Not the best fix, but it might help you out.

I did the hard reset and it didn't work. I rotated as instructed above and that worked. Everything seems to be working properly now. Thanks for the help. I don't think I would have figured that out on my own.

Glad we can help, even if it doesn't completely fix the problem. At least it is a temporary work around until it gets fixed (I hope).

I just had the same issue having updated to 3.2. I couldn't open any documents via the file manager. Screen just went dim and nothing happened. The fix for me was to undock the device, open up a file via 'File Manager', which then gives you the menu to choose which program to use and then I re-docked it. All working fine again.

mine was doing the same thing after the update, I opened my email took the transformer out of landscape mode, the clicked on the link in the email, a popup asked me which browser to use as default, I have Maxton browser installed too, I selected stock browser as default, and it opened email link, the when I went back into landscape mode, all the links that I clicked on worked ok, seemed like the tablet was just dimming trying to decide what browser to use. mine works good now, and the stock browser seems faster after the update !!!

3.2 seems to be an inconsistent update as different people are experiencing different issues with different fixes and not just based on this thread. There have been several threads of these types of posts.

I experienced the same thing, just doing the 90 degree rotate trick fixed it. For the record I do not have any anti-virus installed so the reference above about that possibly being the issue might not be true.

Kinda makes you wonder if all the chips are the same in the TF's.
