well, not getting much response here. shipped to service center earlier today
I have tried to cold boot and still no love.
I have tried wipe. again nl
I have tried placing copy of most current firmware from ASUS site in root dir of microsd card and turned on device. no dice.
When I turn on, it is at the asus eeepad logo screen and there it stays. I can turn off by holding the power button/vol up button.
If I hold the power button/volume down button till little white writing appears I can:
if I don't do anything, it will present the two little icons in middle of screen. One for wipe data, the other is Android. Either one selected it gets to "cold-booting Linux" and hangs.
If I press "vol up" before 10 sec is up I get "booting recovery kernel image" and it hangs.
This is not, nor ever was rooted. completely stock.
This is my wife's device and my 5 year old son was playing game on it prior to this mode. I thought it was just dead battery and suspected the usb cable being broken. Bought new cable and has been on wall wart overnight. I think it has a charged battery but no way to tell for sure. Wife reported that it was acting a little funny just before this happened. Something to do with battery charge and inconsistent uptime with full charge.
While awaiting a response from someone here, I have been actively researching this issue and have also discovered I can not enter APX mode (hold down Volume + and Power). Doing this does nothing and while plugged into a computer, device does not show up on Device Manager.
Any suggestions? I am fairly computer literate and have tried to search the forum for a solution.
Thanks,
Bill

You did everything anyone could suggest that is why you recieved no response. Sending it to ASUS for service was probably the only thing you could do to solve the problem.
