    File System

I would like to make a confession of bewilderment in the Android file system. Using TealMover and PowerRun on my previous device, Tapwave Zodiac, which uses the PalmOS, I was in total control of my apps and files, navigating between internal memory and the two SD cards. I just can't seem to get a handle on my Transformer's OS. I have installed different file managers, Astro, File Manager HD, File Expert, DiscUsage, but can't seem to get a clearcut sense of where the files are and how to move them around. Even the simple task of knowing how much memory is being used and how much is left in both internal and SD is not clear. I was a big fan of TealPoint apps when I was in the PalmOS...still am!

The internal memory is located in the directory /mnt/sdcard/
SD and MicroSD are located in the /Removable/ directory
I use File Manager HD and you can create shortcut/bookmarks to your recently used directories to make it easy to jump between internal and external memory.

In file manager HD, to select multiple files or folders hit the "Multi" icon at the top and tap the files or folders to be moved. Then you can hit Cut at the top. Move to the new location and Paste. If you just want to do one file, long press and then a menu pops up and go to "Edit" and there are options to Cut, Copy, Paste, Rename, Delete. In the new location there should be a paste option at the top.

For memory usage, it is in the settings somewhere. I dont remember off the top of my head and dont have my TF handy.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I just have to play around with the app more to understand it.
