Asus Eee Pad Transformer Dock does not work at all
Hi Transformers
I am a proud owner of a Eee Pad Transformer and I am happy with it. To extend the possibilities I bought a dock but unfortunately it does not work at all. Here the story:
I had not much time, but I was eager to see if it works. As I first attached the Pad to the dock, the mouse courser appeared and worked. I spent 30 seconds with the pad, pad worked but did not try the keys. I put it aside. In the evening I had more time and opened the "Pad-Dock" (Dock was attached at the Pad). I pushed the power button on the Pad, but the screen didn't turn on. I pressed and pressed, nothing changed. I removed the dock from the Pad, and pressed again the Power button on the Pad. The screen was immediately illuminated. Put back the dock. Screen went off. After 3 Seconds, screen went on and the dock is connected, icon bottom right corner appeared.
A System update appeared as well and I installed it (The green Android gear wheel buddy appeared on the screen). After a reboot, a yellow triangle icon appeared on botom right corner on the display. I installed the new dock driver and made a new restart.
Now, when I attach the dock to the running Pad, the screen shuts off. From time to time it get back after 3 Seconds, but not all the time. The mouse pad and the keys on the dock never work, nada, dead.
When the Pad is in sleep mode (Screen off) and I attach the dock I can't get the Pad awake. Pressing the power button as much as I want, it sleeps. As soon as I remove the dock the screen illuminates.
I made sure the Pad is exactly pushed into the dock, the release button is on the very right side. I have no clue what else to try. The only thing I will do is a hard reset. I will do that once I get home.
Any suggestions how to bring the dock to life?
Thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum and sorry for your troubles.
I would try (with the dock attached) a hard reset. From power off state, press and hold VOL DOWN and POWER button for about 10 seconds until the screen comes on. Release both buttons and it will ask you about wiping the data. Press VOL DOWN again once to cancel the data wipe and see if that works.
It is best to run a hard reset after all updates IMO.
Also, is the latch ALL the way to the right? Some users have had to help it out until it gets worn in a bit.
What are the first few letters of the serial numbers of your dock and tablet? (Small sticky note on the bottom of the tab and the front of the keyboard or look on the boxes)
Edit: Found a thread with what I believe to be the same issue: http://www.transformerforums.com/for...k-problem.html

@ Frederuco
Thank you for your quick reply.
I just made a hard reset without wiping the data. After booting was finished, the curser and the mouse pad worked, but still dead keys. Once the screen gets into standby, I can't awake it anymore. I can press as long as I want onto the power button, it's off. When I remove the dock It just gets on.
Thank you for the link, I've already read it and made everything mentioned in this tread but unfortunately without any luck.

Sounds to me like it is time to return the dock. Hopefully you can do this at the place you purchased it. If not, call ASUS (they never respond to emails) and get the RMA process started.
B7O is the latest round (I have a B5O) so I am surprised it is having issues. Good luck!

I can definitely return the dock, already contacted the supplier. But before I do so, I try everything to solve the problem. Sending products back is always a pain in the a...
I hope somebody has a magic trick to get everything running. Maybe I have to ask at the David Copperfield Forum.

Was your Dock ever charged to begin with? Was it seated properly with locking lever all the way to the right? Sometimes it is somthing simple we overlook.

@ mrumm49
Thank you for your help. The dock is charged and the locking latch is all the way to the right. If I want to get the latch more to the
right, I have to take a mill and make a groove.

My bag of tricks is empty. If that doesn't work, IMO it is time to send it back.

I had problems getting my dock to work with my TF too. In my case the only thing that wouldn't respond on my dock was all of the keys on the keyboard. The company I purchased everything has a great return/exchange policy. I talked it over with them and they decided to exchange the dock first. The replacement dock still didn't work so they exchanged the TF. The exchanged TF was the problem and the dock works fine now.
The original TF I had was a batch 5 also, the replacement is a batch 6. Both docks were from batch 6. I would suggest, if you can, you exchange your TF first if not both.
