tablet screen does not show anything, but software works

ok so heres whats happening with my tf101 tablet... i turn it on and where it should have the boot up screens and asus logo it shows nothing.. a black screen. it boots up all the way to get to the operating system, still a black screen. i know this because I'm getting notifications for emails... and the on screen keyboard which doesnt show because still... a blank black screen, makes the noises when you tap the buttons. so in conclusion... the software is functioning correctly, i just cant see it
please help me with this ASAP, i'm going on leave in a month and i'll be sitting on a plane for 13 hours.

It sounds to me as if your backlight has gone

You can try connecting to an external screen via HDMI cable & then check that the touchscreen is working. The external screen will mirror what is on the tablet & you will still be able to touch and get a response.

But sadly, I doubt you will get this working unless you dismantle the tablet, can get the spare parts and perform a DIY fix. Paying for someone else to repair it is going to cost more than the tf101 is worth & you would probably be better off replacing it.
