    MICROSD card not being read

Hi, just got my tablet [3rd one, previous 2 both had dead pixels]
anyways, popped an 8gb microsd card into the slot and I see the notification pop up that it's preparing the card, and immediately it disappears.

I check the file manager, as well as storage in the settings and it shows that there's nothign there. I know I've put a bunch of files on teh card, but it's just not recognizing a card's been put in.

    Any suggestions? please email

Try to reboot with the micro SD card inserted and that should clear things up for you.

any info on brand? not sure if it'll be an issue, but some seem to work better than others.

my suggestion is to get a universal card reader (or if your laptop has one built in and you have an SD card adapter).. the USB card reader i got was fairly cheap $10-20 and i use it off and on. ANYWAY.. download SD Formatter and follow the simple steps.

It may be a long shot, but I would get in the habit of using this app for formatting sd cards as it may save your ass down the road.

    good luck.

What is the card formatted as? I have seen this behavior if it is formatted for NTFS which does not read in the microSD slot. It will read through USB in a card reader (which boggles my mind). I have to use FAT32 to make it work. I am not sure if the TF will read an exFAT partition, that will be my next quest to see if that will work for larger files.

    It's a verbatim - 8gb, class 4
formatted at fat32, default allocation size [using the win7 format tool]

i booted it up with it plugged in and still didn't recognize that anything was plugged in

My TF stopped reading microSD (Kingston 8G) and Dock SD (Sandisk Ultra 8G) on me once. But it worked again after I uninstalled the mem cards, power down the TF, then powered back on. It's been working so far.

Where are you looking for the card?

There is an icon in the lower right corner that you have to tap to get access to the card.

    You're not seeing that?

I see that notification that it's "preparing the storage" ever so briefly, then it disappears with no other notification

i'll go into the file manager and it won't show anything for 'removable'
i'll go into settings / storage and for removable storage it will say 'unavailable'
