    Welcome to the forum!

Have a look through this guide to see if it helps:[RS Guide] - So Your Transformer Won't Charge and/or Boot?

Report back if that does not help.

Thank you for the reply, but its not a charge issue. its more of the tablet coming on and remaining on the asus boot up splash screen with the asus logo and it doesnt progress beyond that point. I have tried to do a hard reset by pressing the power and down volume key then the up volume key. it says its loading the recovery kernel image, the stops at the droid image with a caution triangle on it, which i've interpreted as a corrupt image. i may be wrong about that though.

Yes, but if you read how to do a hard reset in the linked instructions, it tells you NOT to press VOL UP at the RCK and let it go to the next screen. Basically, hold VOL DOWN and POWER until you see the white letters, then release and do nothing. Next screen with 2 icons, leave it for 10 seconds and it will cold boot linux.

Try switching in & out of APX mode. That will often break this sort of boot loop problem...

    Welcome to the forum skudmissal

    Here you go...

    APX mode
--Hold down the Power button and the Volume Up buttom, at the same time, for 10 seconds. The TF101 will shut itself off, screen will be black. After a minute, hold down the Power button and the Volume Down button, at the same time, for 10 seconds. The screen will come on about 30 sec after you release the buttons.

APX Mode = the tablet switches into a black screen and Windows can't see it as a USB/storage device; nothing else happens

As far as manually reinstalling the firmware, there are links in the Master Help Guide (linked from my signature) that explain how to do just that.

You can use EasyFlasher on a PC to manually flash firmware in APX mode.

It is just a way to connect from a computer if you brick your device and it will not boot to recovery or to the OS.
