Transformer will not go pass the Asus screen

My tablet will not go pass the Asus screen with the dots. I did a wipe and cold boot but still came back to this screen. The android man is laying down with a red sign. What else can I do?

    Welcome to the forum

Sorry to read that... Did it just happen one day? Or had you been trying to flash a ROM or something?

If it just happened & you are still under warranty, then a return to Asus seems your best bet as a sudden collapse like that would make me suspect a faulty internal flash memory resulting in a corrupted "boot sector" to use PC terminology.

You could try this if it is out of warranty...[GUIDE] How to flash Official Firmware downloaded from ASUS site

My TF101 is doing the same thing. Worked fine until a few days ago. I found it had gone off standby, but when I turned it on it booted to the ASUS screen and then stopped.

I tried Vol-Up + Power until it was really off, and then turned it on -- same result.

I tried Vol-Up + Power again, waited a minute, and then Vol-Down + Power -- same result, preceded by linux preloader msg.

It's out of warranty (1-year, right?), and has never been rooted. Nothing I'm aware of happened between the last time it worked and now. All updating I'm aware of is on manual.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Allen

I guess there's no "field cure" for this. Probably have to send unit back to Asus. Given the synchronicity of this issue, I'm thinking it may have been precipitated by an autoupdate...

You can try going into APX mode or ADB mode and flashing a new firmware that way.

Or, given you can get the device to power on & off, click on the link in my signature for the Master Help Guide & look for the Factory Reset Guide. You could try method two which only relies on the vol & power keys.

Can't be of more help, personally, I'm sorry to say...

Re: returning to Asus... the shipping & repair is going to cost more than you will want to pay, sadly. It would be cheaper to buy a new tablet...

good luck! My TF201 had to be sent back to Asus when I first bought it because a firmware upgrade caused it to freeze. Last month, when I got a new firmware upgrade(Jelly Bean) it froze again. It is now at Asus being repaired. It is obviously defective since any firmware upgrade causes it to freeze. But Asus does not intend to replace a defective product. But I am going to try to never upgrade it again and never buy another Asus product.

    Thanks Janner43.

I wiped it 4-5 times, without and with the keyboard, with and without a card in the tablet with an update image, and it never goes past the ASUS screen. When I select the recovery kernel, it shows a dead android. Set up the SDK and tried ADB, but at no stage in the various off and booting/crashed scenarios does it respond to the USB connection or appear to "adb devices". It looks like it's hanging early in the linux boot.

If I can't get a connection, it's looking like I'm bricked. Are there any other routes? I'm feeling increasingly uninhibited about trying things...!

    Thanks,

    Allen
