Any repair cost will likely be more than you can buy a replacement tablet for. Let alone the battery wear you will have experienced. There is no "bulb" the backlight is a large set of small LEDs integrated within the device.

The tf101 is not worth spending money on. Sell your dock on eBay & replace the entire device.

The Hint and the Photo from the 1st page (connector cable) saved my day

I sold my pad, shipped it ... and the buyer received it with ht error described on 1st page (only backlight, no picture). Fixed it within 10 minutes.

I would never have found the described loosen connector without that photo ... so many many thanks!!!

This worked for me too, so many thanks for posting. My cable was slightly lifted off from one side - very subtle but enough to lose the screen!

Thanks so much for this image! My daughter got an ASUS for her bday. 1st day she drops it and the screen stops working (even though I could hear it working). I pulled it apart and couldnt figure out what was wrong. Was just about to put it back together when I came across this, and found some debris was lodged right where you showed in the jpeg. My daughter and I thank you very much!!!

    I think I fixed it?

Leaving this comment in case it could help someone. My situation could be completely different from others, but I was able to fix my tf103 by taking the back off, unplugging the battery, plugging the tablet into power, holding the power button down, and as soon as I saw the screen turn on, plug the battery back in. The first time I attempted this, I waited until I saw the Asus logo before plugging the battery in, but it froze the tablet at that screen and didn't go any further. I'll edit this comment if after it's done charging and I reboot it doesn't come back up, but that was the only way I was able to get it to boot.

Edit: Device works unplugged, but if I try to restart it, it goes back to black and I have to do the "trick" again to get it to boot I think it might be a faulty battery or charging mechanism.

Edit 2: After doing the trick a couple of times, the device is "better" If I restart it, I have to manually turn it back on and it's still finicky, but at least it is no longer a brick.

    Hi to everyone.

After 3 years, i just tested my tf101 again and now, i know that the backklight is dead (hdmi works and torch reveal the image on the LCD screen). If there is no bulb for replacing backlight, the only solution is to buy a lcd replacement?

Is there another solution? Can anyone help me? I dont wanna spent more than 10-15€

    Thanks.
