    Back up system

Since I'm VERY new to android this may be a stupid question:

I back up my windows desktop automatically every week or so in case I lose my OS. Is there a way to back up my entire Asus to my external drive and restore it, in case it is lost, or I really screw it up?? Thanks

You must be rooted and have ClockWorkMod recovery installed to do a full system backup. There is no way to do so on a stock Asus. You can always drag and drop neccessary files to your PC if needed

Yeah Droid-Xer is right. I don't think there's much reason to backup the tablet anyway. All your apps can be redownloaded plus it'll be pretty hard to do something to mess it up if you're not trying to do anything with root or custom roms.

I think you can use Titanium Backup as well. I believe I saw an update where it was ready for Honeycomb. I use it on all my phones. Its fantastic! But still requires root for proper functionality.

One head's up, If you enable the setting, Google will back up your apps (but not settings) to their cloud. Any paid apps are tied to your Google account and are accessibleregardless of which device you sign into.

Correct, apps and contacts are saved with your Google account but you can't back up any data.

I may be being stupid, but how do I go about backing up the files such as documents and photos on my transformer back onto my compu ter? and when I have done so, will they automatically be restored to my transformer?

My keyboard is not working properly and Asus have told me I have to do a factory reset which is extremely annoying...

Plug your transformer up to your computer. Access the tablets files and just copy and paste everything on there onto a folder. Then after the rest just copy and paste everything back onto the Transformer. That's what I did when I had to do a factory reset anyway.
