    non technical keyboard layout HELP!!!!

Complete non techie, have had tf101 3 days and about to throw it out the window. Have looked at threads about keyboard layout. PLEASE can anyone give me a non technical way of getting UK dock keyboard-it seems to be all set on UK ASUS keyboard but still get random letters that don´t relate to the keyboard-have 2 days to take the thing back!

I'm not sure what you're asking, confusing...you don't want UK layout?
Try hitting Settings-then look for the language and input option on the left.
There are options listed to select the default keyboard settings you want with arrow boxes.
Post back if you want to clarify exactly what layout you want....cause I'm not sure from the original post.
(and perhaps someone else will chime in....I could be stump dumb)

    Welcome to the forum!

Before you throw it out the window, please drop it in post to me!

The easiest way I know of. With the tablet docked, and in an area where you can input text, there will be a keyboard icon that in the notification area (by the clock).

Tap this, and select the ASUS English (UK) Keyboard

If it is not there, tap the sliders to the right of any of the ASUS keyboards and go to Languages. Untick the Use System Language and select the ASUS English (UK) language.

    Cheers

No, see such a non techie don´t even phrase the questions right! I want a UK Keyboard. In Settings, Language and Input i have set default to Asus English(UK) Keyboard, keyboard is docked, but the symbols on the screen do not represent those i have typed on the keyboard

I guess I am not understanding the issue then.

Which symbols are not working properly?

I have a US keyboard dock, but when I select the UK Keyboard, SHIFT 2 gives " and Shift 3 gives £ even though that is not what is printed on the US keyboard. It behaves as if it were a UK keyboard dock.

    Ok,

Lets try this. Open the Settings app.
Scroll down to Language & input
Adjacent to the ASUS Keyboard tap the three sliders on the right
Select the Input Languages at the top
Untick the Use System Language if it is ticked.
Tick the box next to ASUS English (UK) Keyboard
    Back Button
    Back Button
Default and select the ASUS English (UK) Keyboard again.

    Now, it should work.

I tested mine just now, and with the "Use System Language", it does not do the same as the "ASUS English (UK) Keyboard" selected.

After doing this, it works as a UK keyboard on my TF101.

Followed your great instructions to the letter, but ; still produces>? produces _. Really sorry, and really regreting buying something that seems to be too technically demanding for my requirements-perhaps the dreaded ipad would have been better...
