What i need is a button on my main screen that when i press it either shuts down the tab or ask me to shut down the tab. I dont want to use hardware power button always. It feels very fragile already.
Plz suggest if you know any such app or widget. Thank you.

I'm surprised but there doesn't seem to be a way to shut off android with a shortcut/widget without root access.
Some android phones had a way to press button combinations in the phone app but nothing like that for us tablet folks.

I agree with loganss-- without root, you cannot press a widget (button) to shut down your tablet.
But with root access? There are more than you will ever need...
