    tf101 won't recognize charger

My tf101 won't recognize its charger.

The charger can be used to charge other usb devices. When connected, the tf101 will slowly charge at about 2% an hour, but will not recognize that the charger is connected (i.e. the lower-right corner battery display doesn't change).

Its like the wall charger is acting the same as if it were drawing a 5V charge from a computer usb port. I've seen other threads about charger problems more generally, but was wondering if anyone had success solving this particular problem.

It's an odd problem, but I'm confident it's software related. My iPhone 4 does this at times as well. I can plug it in and leave it overnight, and it decharges, because it doesn't move into "charging" mode.

I did a hard reset and now its charging normally. After everything I tried I can't believe thats all it took. I even tried the freezer thing!

Thanks for suggesting it was a software issue. It finally got me on the right track after spending hours messing with the charger.

Remember to put hard/cold reset in your memory banks, anytime I have a weird problem the first thing I do is a hard/cold reset.
Glad to hear you got it working.

    Enjoy

A hard reset is not something to be afraid of. I do one once a week. Keeps your TF in tip top shape.

Glad it worked for you. Same thing happened to me....although I don't believe I'm getting any charge at all.

    I tried the cold boot...nodda.
