Android laying down with a red exclamation sign over its body.

Hi all,

Please help! Update to ICS about a week ago. After the update I have a lot freeze and reset, so today I decided to do a factory rest by holding the power button plus volume down button, the EEEPad gos to android with gear then after few second it shows android laying down with a red exclamation sign over its body with nothing happen. Is this something new on ICS? How do I fix this problem?

First of all, don't panic.

Second, reboot your tablet - a long press on the power button - and then follow this guide

Followed the guide and I go back to try the factory reset key combo and same thing show up with Android laying down with a red exclamation sign over its body. So, is that means from now on I have to do the factory reset from setting?

Yes, just do it from the settings.

I expect that you have been touching the key combinations in such a way as to actually be trying to get into recovery mode. You cannot do this with the stock boot launcher and so you are getting the graphic you describe.

The Factory Reset from settings is the normal way to do this, so that's fine,

I have the same problem with the Asus 101T. It was updated to 4.0 and I can't get past the boot screen now. When I tried the instructions I get to the Android lying flat with the red exclamation but there is no way for me to get to the settings or boot past the Asus screen? Also the screen is stuck in the on position and hitting the power button turns it off for a few seconds but then on again. Any help would be much appreciated. THanks
