Before I buy a 32gb SD card, is it possible to transfer apps to the SD card?

I would totally agree with leeshor.
The apps themselves (except some of the native ICS ones) are not of any major size that migrating them to the microSD or SD card has real value - mostly it's the data that can get to be substantial in size...especially photos, videos, and documents.
Enjoy your expanded storage....and make sure you get a brand name card with a Class 6 rating or higher if you intend to store video or large photo content (for access speed).
