Firmware Upgrade, freezes with DROID + TRIANGLE WITH ORANGE EXCL. POINT!

    Help!

I'm based in POLAND with an ASUS TF101 bought in the U.S. I received notification (checked in settings) that an update was available. I assume this is the ICS version, but not sure. Anyway, it downloaded, checked ROM integrity and then reset itself. When the screen came back on I had a picture with the ANDROID WITH AN OPEN BOX, after about 5-10 seconds, the picture turned into an ANDROID WITH A GREY TRIANGLE AND AN EXCLAMATION POINT (in the middle of the triangle). See below:

From what I read, everyone is happy with the install and seems flawless. Any ideas what may cause my issue? Could it have something to do with country setting??? I did a reset to factory to try again, but same issue... bummer....

Other info., my serial number starts with "B70". I have a few installed apps. A few weeks ago I may have rooted/unrooted when I was experimenting with the possibility to upgrade to ICS earlier, but I aborted that and the unit still seem to work as it did from the beginning. I never changed anything. Could I have set a parameter that caused some problem? Grrrr... frustrating...

    Any ideas?

My guess is that you didn't see my notes on preparing for ICS. In the mean time, try a hard reset. Instructions are below.

Did you install CWM Recovery when you rooted? If so, did you remove it when you unrooted?

I just want to thank everyone for the support on this thread and all the transformer threads. I received the update today and it installed with no issues so far. My Prime is behaving as it did when new. I cannot say how great it is not to have the constant reboots and be able to use this again. I hate to admit how attached I have become to this device. Again thanks to all who have rendered support!!!!

Performed the hard reset and the same thing happens

I did install CWM Recovery, but never knew how to use it. I didn't remove it, but I did a factory restore which seemed to take it from my apps. Is there something more?

I see that I can boot in CWM Recovery mode, but I never changed anything. The original settings are there. I had simply thought about installing ICS earlier, so I looked into rooting. Then I decided not to get so technical.

Do I need to remove this utility? If the settings are still default is there any need to flash back to stock?

Thanks in advance. I was really excited about this update....

    So, questions:

    1. If I have CWM, and may have rooted (but changed nothing), would this block the upgrade? Is it possible only to remove CWM only and that would make it factory (as I mentioned nothing was changed)?

    2. If above is the issue, then I can use you video at:

In this case, do I need a mini-SD for the transformer unit, or can I also use USB Stick or SD regular from the docking station (I ask because I already have these 2 things)?

    Some comments:

    1. According to ROOT CHECK PRO, I'm not rooted. Not sure if this is valid.

    2. My serial number starts with "B70" and it was purchased in the States.

    Thank you.

You will need to have the factory recovery installed and remove CWM (I think CWM overwrites the existing recovery). You'll have to search for how to do so as I have never removed CWM from my phones, just installed it and flashed new roms...

Make sure to read read read. If you mess up the recovery, it may make things very very difficult for you.

To remove CWM, follow the link in my signature for Flash Back to stock.

Some of the B7O's can use the NVFlash method (B4O-B6O). I have a B7O that has SBK v2 and NVFlash does not work. I think you can still do it from where you are at being not-rooted and stock

Worst case, you can flash something like Revolver 3.11.1 and get to a rooted ROM and then run through the flash back to stock.

OK! Thank you once again. I used the BRK's Root Toolkit (which I used to ROOT) to UNROOT and RESTORE BOOT & RECOVERY

Worked like a charm! ICS installed! Proceeding to play....

You guys are super helpful! I'm very greatful! If you are ever in Poland, just let me know and I will invite you for a coffee drink-fest at my cafe in Warsaw
