New breed of Transformer keyboard dock problem
Dear Forum. Please help.
I`ve been reading through countless posts about problems with the keyboard dock for the TF101, now I want to add my own to the mix.
I have had both my Transformer and the dock for six months now. The pad itself has been flawless, a true joy to use, the keyboard dock has been tolerable. On occasion it has acted weird, but usually the problem can be solved by a simple undock redock procedure. I have never had battery draining problems and have always been careful to update the firmware. Recently though it has failed on me. The dock connects to the pad just fine, they communicate well, the dock charges the pad perfectly. When I start typing, however, I am treated to a surprise. Q toggles the wireless on/off, W is itself, E dims the screen brightness, D turns down the volume, etc. You get the picture. The key mapping is way off. This problem persists regardless of language and keyboard settings. The annoying thing is that some of the buttons work the way they are supposed to, such as the back, home and W button to name a few.
I have tried a soft reset, a hard reset, looking for new firmware, disconnecting reconnecting (which sometimes works for a little while and other times not.) even cursing the Gods on mount Olympus. Nothing works.
Any help, tips or similar stories to share would be much appreciated. I am at my wits end.
Thank you.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Have you by any chance changed the keyboard input method recently, or installed another keyboard.
It sound to me more like a conflice rather than hardware?
Do you know of anyone with a TF-101 and dock to test by swapping? Or
even a local store might help if they have a demo one.
I cannot think of anything elso right now!

I purchased the thumb keyboard from the Android Market and had similar troubles. Now I change soft keyboards back to the Asus before docking. No trouble after that.

That is a very interesting observation. It would make sense that the interaction between the two devices might be affected by "other" keyboards. I'm filing that bit of info in my memory - it might come in handy

Actually my transformer warned me that they might not be compatible and may interfere.

I use perfect keyboard with a tron skin and have had no dock issues. Try that keyboard if you want a different one compatible to the dock.

I've never tampered with the default settings. I have a Norwegian keyboard, so I just leave it on the Asus Norwegian Keyboard default, which it has always been on. I just performed another hard reset, just to be sure I'd excluded any conflicts. Performed the first time setup, set the system language to Norwegian, etc. It worked perfectly. For a few minutes. Now I'm right back to the same problem again. I've tried changing the system language to English, etc, but it does nothing to change the keyboard layout. It remains the same, wacky and random.

Ningos, my post was probably one of them. Yes, my keypad quit functioning after the latest firmware upgrade. I've done cold start to no avail. Interesting what you say about odd keys doing things, in some applications the odd key elicits a response, eg the drop down menu in one, a toggle in another - quite irrationally but reproducible.
Have you come across any help? I'm loath to march into PC World and wait a month for a replacement only to find out its soft and the problem returns. At least it performs its main function for me a s a back-up battery.
