    [SOLVED] help opening zip files?

Anyone know how to open a zip file? I downloaded 2 audio files and I'm not able to open either. I've gone into file manager but each time I try and open the downloaded zip file I get an error message. Shouldn't the application automatically appear. The site I downloaded these files from says that I need Flashplayer which I already have-any suggestions? Thanks in advance? - Shell

The file is probably compressed in a ZIP file so you aren't really seeing the file you expect. ES File Explorer has the ability to unzip files as does Androzip from the Market. In other words your error is because you don't have an app installed that's associated with ZIP files.

There is an APP called ANDROZIP in the market. You can use this app to extract the zip files which you downloaded.

Um, guys, file manager HD is a file navigator that also allows you to unzip stuff. It's one of those all purpose file manager kinda app. It also unrar rar files.

With file manager HD, you can also navigate to your PC hard drive via wifi network, bookmark any folder you want, and more.

Stop insisting on using stock this and stock that.

    Hi,
I just had the same problem. The file manager included with the Asus Transformer Prime tablet is not capable of opening zip files.
After doing some research on the internet, I found many recommendations for the AndroZip File Manager app. I downloaded it about 10 minutes ago (free) and was able to successfully open the zip file.
    'Hope this helps:

They indirectly said so. By insisting on using a separate app (androzip), they implied that they're still going to use the stock file manager, which is incapable of unzipping or unrarring stuff. Just use file manager HD to navigate, unzip, unrar, transfer files back and forth wirelessly with your PC, etc.

If you insist on using 10 different apps for 10 different things over 1 app for all those things, then be my guest.

I don't subcribe to your Unified App Theory. One app that does everything. For example, how many office programs do you have installed ??
