    Wireless Help Please

I am a Soldier currently stationed in Afganistan. Bought a TF-101 with Keyboard Dock so I wouldn't have to lug a laptop all over the country. So far this is one of the best investments I have ever made. Wireless at first was not an issue as I was positioned right next to the router in my tent and picked up full signal.

Now I have moved across the country and the one wireless router in the area is 2 tent rows away and will give me 1 bar... 2 if im real lucky. Im pretty smart when it comes to routers and stuff like that but im trying to avoid buying a wireless router and wasting money. I rely on my pad to stay in touch with my Wife and my little girl.

I want to know if there is any sort of wireless boster app for the TF-101 or if there is an antenna that I can hook up to the keypad USB port that will allow me to receive more signal from the router. I have seen several options out there but they are all for windows/linux/or mac systems. Is there anything that is compatible with the TF Os??

Baring that, is there any sort of ether net adapter that I can plug into the keyboard USB Port that will allow me to plug in CAT 5 Cable?

Any information that can be provided would be appreciated greatly. Specs on my tablet are listed below

    Model TF101
    Andriod Ver: 3.2.1
    Wi-FI Ver: 5.2.65
    Mobil Dock: EP101-0213

    Thanks

A quick reply - first of all, thanks for what you and all your colleagues from whatever national origin are doing on our behalf out there. Thanks a lot.

Sadly I am not aware of anything that would boost your signal. Nor is there any way of connecting a wired LAN to your tf101. Sorry to add to your burden, but I don't think there is anything that will help with your wifi - other than getting closer to the broadcast point or asking your IT guys to turn up the power if they are able to.

Please pass our appreciation on to all your colleagues. Again, thank you

One thing you can try. The TF doesn't like the higher channels. Ask if the channel can be changed to 3 to 6.

There are several mobile hot spots available that are really small routers that attach to a network cable and would allow you WiFi access. The network would need to be set up as DHCP to the clients and it would need a PC to set it up the first time but most of them do work. They are mini routers. Here is one example

There are a number of WIFI repeaters:
    Amazon.com: 802.11 repeater: Electronics

I'm looking into the same thing.
