I think what is meant by "pull apart" is to unplug the USB cable from the wall plug adapter.

The wall adapter should have 2 pieces to it. Mine from my B6O did anyway. The plug part that goes into the wall, and the the larger part. See the picture for reference:

    Great pic Frederuco.

Fatallightning, notice the two metal wire loops on the large part of the charger (that's the top leftmost pic)? You need pull those two things up(direction they're pointing) and slightly away from the charger body. I used tweazers if i remember correctly to put them through the loops and gently applied force as described above. You can't really tell if anything has happened as it's really a minor change, but once plugged in you'll get that charging icon
    Trust, but verify.

Yeah, strangely. I was having the same trouble yesterday, called Asus support and was told to pull them apart and put them back together again and that did the trick.

That pic is from the excaliber-pc site, one of the first to have replacement chargers. That is the international charger for $40 USD that has all the tips you would ever need. I do not know if those are shipping yet, but I saw that someone has the UK & EU charger available somewhere for folks in those areas.

Please don't "pull" your plug apart - I just did that & wrecked it. Look closely there is a little arrow showing which way to "slide" it apart - lesson learned. Now I need to research other methods

I was just going to post the same, but you did it quite well Ginger. Rule of thumb for any component. If it doesn't move easily, DON'T FORCE IT

LOL - wished you'd posted that about 30 mins earlier - teach me to put my glasses on.

Searching the forums now looking for alternative charging methods, everything seems to be older threads - is there no alternative to getting another asus wall adapter, would prefer to find something a bit more reliable, had to fiddle/wiggle this thing every time to get a lightning bolt.

    A searching I go

Ginger check out this thread. Be advised the dynex charger does not work as the USB tip forces 5 VDC instead of 11. http://www.transformerforums.com/for...discussed.html

I made a DIY car adapter from a USB car charger. Stripped the components off the PCB and wired it to output 12 VDC and a 1.5 Amp fuse.
