It should be OK, only cordless phones affect wifi.

Hi, I have tried everything above with no luck. It looks to me like this was or is an ICS problem which started about a year ago. I found lots of people having same problem around Feb/Mar 2012. Does anybody know if these people had their problems resolved or if they just gave up and junked their tablets. There were some mentions about fixes but I don't know how you'd download a fix if you can't even get internet connection. I bought this tablet based on the great reviews and was so excited to use it. If there is no solution, then I'm going to have to go buy a tried and true ipad.

    I would
    1. Go somewhere like a public hotspot, check for updates for your tab there.
    2. Remove all security and (temporarily) to try and get your tablet to connect to your home router. The first rule of troubleshooting WiFi is remove security, then change channels to a known channel.
3 check to make sure your router and tablet are on the same county WiFi wise as Europe has more channels available than the us. Google wiki WiFi channels for clarification if in doubt force your router to channel 1.
3.5 make sure your router has the latest firmware
    4. Download the latest firmware for your tablet via computer and install it manually.
5 if all else fails, send me money for a plane ticket and I'll bring a working router.

You have not told us what wifi you are trying to connect to, wether it is a public hotspot or your own router. Or what any of the settings on your router or tablet are, which version of firmware you are using, all you have done is rant and say you have questions.

I have compared my tf101 wifi with ipad 2 and ipad mini. The tf 101 always wins.

Any other ideas? It is very odd - my laptop sees the router, but the tablet does not. All are in the same room.

Try 2,3,3.5, 4 and especially 5 listed above. In 20 years i have seen one wifi problem that was actually a hardware failure and not a configuration issue. Usually its a minor issue being overlooked.

Also - download the wifi analyzer app when you do get connected. It can tell you signal strength, show other networks (your neighbors or pets for instance) which might be interfering with your reception - and indicate which channel is the best for your tablet/router combination.

Well Wifi Analyzer was not showing anything, yet wireless router was working because laptop was connected via it talking to this forum. Renewed DCHP and now all is good. What did "renew DCHP" do?

One last clarification, does the TF201 work with N or just G/B? I have seen both yes and no answers on this forum.
