    Apps closing unexpectedly

    Hello

I have had three instances of apps just suddenly closing. Two of them was the browser and the other was the word processor. When I re-opened the word processor I had lost my work.

Is this common and other than saving my work is there anything I can do?

    Thank you

    Paul

It happens unfortunately, sometimes a cold boot can solve some problems, other times it is poor coding, or another app running processes in the background interfering with the one that crashes.

Best to save often if you are creating a large document, if your problem occurred with Polaris Office, ditch it and grab another one such as Kingsoft Office or Documents to Go - Polaris has a known bug that has lost many people hours of work

This is because of how the Android memory stack works. Each program is assigned a "number" of importance (the programmer decides to a certain degree, Android OS gives priority to system operations). If you open too many things after you were in a program that require memory, then that program will get closed. Browser is pretty memory intensive, especially with multiple tabs, thus, your office program probably got closed.

Check out OfficeSuite Pro 5. I got it free on Amazon free app of the day, and it has a saving feature so you NEVER lose your work. It will even "recover" a document if you cold boot without having saved the document. best part is, though, that it returns to wherever you were in the document. All Android programmers should write their apps like that, but not all do.
