3.2.1 Update Problems

Hi Guys,

I am fairly new to the Tablet World, and the Anroid world but I thought I would be able to figure this out but I am stumped.

I have tried settings > About> Firmware Update but it just says no update is available. I have searched many forums and a couple people seemed to have the same issue but they all got the update. I am really looking forward to using the Supernote app at school next term, and I need this update to do so.

When you goto Settings > About Tablet - which firmware version do you have right now ?

Under BUILD NUMBER

It should be something like HTK75.xxxxxxxxx-8.6.5. something

8.6.5.19 is the most recent firmware

First, is your TF rooted or stock? Please advise what the build number is (near the bottom of the about screen in settings)

I have seen some users buy these from eBay and it was already rooted with a custom ROM and it will not take updates.

If you have a stock firmware (HTK75.US_epad-8.6.5.19-20111107 is the latest US version) then you can try this:

Settings - Applications - Manage - All - DMClient - Force Close/Clear Data/Clear Cache.

Reboot (hold power/lock button until screen goes blank)

Next try to update in settings again to see if it works.

I don't know if it is rooted or not I did buy it used so it's very possible that it is rooted.

Looks like you have the Prime Custom ROM installed - you won't get Updates the usual way with that - if you want normal updates again, you will have to flash back to stock (See link in my sig)

I have the exact same problem described here.
I've searched the forum for a solution, but didn't find anything.

I cannot update my TF101 - Android Version 3.2.1 Build Number: HTK75.US_epad-8.6.5.19-20111107

My tablet worked great for the first few months I had it, then they changed things from "market place" to "Google Play" and I stopped getting updates and I'm unable to login to the play store.
I still have the old market app listed. I've tried getting it to update, but it says "no update available".
Asus support directed me to their download page, and I've downloaded and extracted virtually every file they have to the root of my SD card, as their instructions stated. But nothing works.
It does not detect an update from my card.
I tried clearing my update app as you suggested above and rebooted, but I get nothing.

PLEEEASSSE...ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!! I'm pulling my hair out!

First, did you try this from the asus website? This file, this way?

Steps of Update:
1. Check SW version of your Eee Pad Transformer TF101*
2. Download Eee Pad Transformer TF101 Firmware: V9.2.1.27 Only for US SKU and Update version of SOP (From “Manual” Item)

※Firmware update cannot do *SKU conversion* and downgrade version.
Wrong SKU may cause update failure, You can only update your SW version on the Same SKU
*How to check SW version of your Eee Pad Transformer TF101?
Path: [Settings]-->[About tablet]-->Build number
Example: You should be able to see the build number WW_epad-9.X.X.X_2012xxxx, where “WW” means SKU.

let's see if we are talking apples and apples first. Others may point you to a more complete route. I do seem to recall there being a difficult time going to 4.0.3 in a single jump, but I could be wrong.
