Third, I would suggest trying Frederuco's Guide to Root and ROM the TF101 but others might have a different idea.

Hi Scott,
Yes, as I posted in the thread; My sku is US_epad-8.6.5.19-20111107
All of the updates on the ASUS support site only list updates for versions in 2012 and I bought my tablet at the end of 2011.
I know my device will run Android version 4.x
I just need to figure out how to get it intalled.
What's my next step?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Ahhhh...okay, it seems I was responding to you at the same time you were posting directions on how to Root it.
Thank you.
I will check it out!
I'm hoping the root will allow you to flash 9.2.1.27 over an 8.xxx. fingers are crossed! Unzip the file only once and put the resulting zip file on your microSD cards root folder. Then from your new recovery flash it. If it all works you will be back to stock ICS with no root.
Stock recovery I do not think will allow it.
Make sure the root and new recovery are there and working before you try to flash. Good Luck.
And if anyone else has better thoughts PLEASE join in!!
