    Left Mouse/Touchpad/Trackpad Bug???

    Hi All,

I have just brought a second hand Transformer, I'm very pleased with it excpet or an issue with the left mouse button.

Basically it doesn't do anything. The trackpad works fine and I see the point on screen. A tap on the track pad acts as a click, the right button acts as a back button. I know about the button on the top row to disable the pad but this isn't the issue.

I contacted the person who I brought it from and he said he never used the buttons but said their was a know bug with the buttons. Could anybody tell me if there are any know issues with the buttons?

It is only a few months old so if there is any issues I'm sure Asus support will rectify the problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Neil

Sounds like it could be a hardware issue. I have had no issues with the mouse buttons on my TF.

ASUS should repair it since the unit has only been for sale since April and carries a 1 year warranty.

While you are at it, check to see if it has the battery drain issue on the keyboard dock outlined here (in the first post):

Thanks, just tested and all ok. However it seems I have a further issue with the dock. I had disconnected the keyboard to do some web surfing. Just connected it to reply to you and the tablet startedto go crazy.

It appeared the browser kept closing when i moved slightly with the keyboard on my lap. Thought it might have been the browser but it kept doing it when in the home screen.

Is this a know issue or likely to be an issue withe tablet or dock?

Could be an issue with the dock connector. First, make sure the silver slider is all the way to the right. Sometimes it does not move all the way over.

Next, inspect the two mating connectors on the dock and bottom of the tablet to see if they have any visible damage.

Once in a while my dock (though docked) will stop working after a long sleep. Undock/dock fixes it, but it has never gone crazy like yours did.

The metal slider is all the way to the right. I've had a look at the connectors and they seem fine. A call to asus I think!!!
