    WiFi connectivity problems

I had no problems with my original wifi router and connection, but I just got a new wifi router and now when my screen turns off I lose connection. Wifi will show connected but the bars on the bottom right will be grayed out and internet will say no internet connection. The only way to get connection back is too toggle wifi on and off. Any thoughts?

    Welcome to the forum Matt,

My first thought when I here this is to suggest you see that the router is on channel 1 or 6 if possible. And restart it.

It sounds like it isn't getting a connection at all so if it says connected in Wireless setup, try long pressing the connection and tell it to forget the connection and start again. You didn't mention any errors but it's possible it didn't get your user name or password first time around.

I personally use the Auto Airplane Mode app by DON and it puts the TF in airplane mode when I put it to sleep to save battery. This could cure your ails, but not sure.

I'm not certain I've seen that before. Try setting it to a fixed channel of 1 or 6 to see if the situation changes at all. What brand and model of router?

I hadn't either. My old router was 2wire764 from ATT. New 1 is a Westell 7550 model B90. Gonna try the channel change, I remember my old router was on channel 6.

If you see a connection in the WiFi settings, delete it and start over. Also you could try setting up with no security long enough to see if it connects.

It will connect but when I turn the screen off for maybe 10-15 minutes my wifi bars are gray and not blue. I'm on channel 11 now seeing if that works. I didn't have this problem before yesterday.

Now we may be getting somewhere. It threw me that you said it worked with the old router but if it connects until the screen blanks that may be a different issue. Go to the wireless settings to the disconnect policy and tell it to never disconnect. Then refer to post #3
