Problem registering the dock on the Asus website!

I received my T101 tablet the other day and had no trouble registering it on the Asus website, once I figured out the correct serial number anyway.

So last night the transformer dock unit that I'd ordered arrived, and I went to the site to register it. However, the dropdown menu provided does not have anything I can recognize as the product model no. for the dock! I tried the TF101 but got an error message that the serial number doesn't match the selected product.

The Model on the back of the box is listed as "TF101 Mobile Docking" and another line has this: "EP101(TF101)-1B DOCK M/33/US" - but I've looked at the list of product model numbers I have to choose from and don't recognize anything except the TF101 (which apparently is only for the tablet itself).

I can't seem to find a way to contact ASUS without first registering the product! What a catch-22 that is.

Can someone offer a suggestion, or a phone number I can call to get this thing registered??

    Thanks!

What is the point of registering it anyway? I registered my tablet last night but I didn't really know what benefit I was getting by doing so...

Warranty claims. That's the only reason that comes to mind.

Choose the tablet from dropdown with dock number. That worked to me.

Well, whaddaya know. I tried again this evening - I KNOW I selected exactly the same product from the drop-down menu and entered the same serial number - and this time the registration was successful.

I don't know that I'd ever have a warranty claim, but one thing that registration does, is help me keep track of when I bought a product. And in the let's hope unlikely event of loss or theft, I have a way to locate the serial number and some evidence of ownership.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm having the same problem. No docking in any pulldowns.

Thai, I never did see the dock in the "Eee family" pulldown menu, just TF101. I was eventually able to use that to register both the tablet and the dock.

The only thing I THINK I did differently that may have caused my dock registration attempt to be successful: made sure to use upper-case letters in the serial number. Or else I just happened to hit the site finally at some precise astrological planetary alignment moment.

I found no mention of a dock anywhere, but it did register fine by selecting "Eee Family" and the "Eee Pad Transformer TF101" combination.

Nice use of Engrish on the Asus site too.

"Congratulation ! You have registered success.
Please take care of your invoice (the copy is fine). If you have any questions of register or warranty in the future, the invoice could be the proof."

I go to super markets and where I see signs that use the wrong words, wrong spelling and letters are backwards. Let's not beat up the Asians.. they are trying.
