Curious fixes for TF build quality issues

    Hey all,

Thought I'd start a thread about something I've had to address.

I posted a few weeks asking whether or not I should return a creaky, flexy TF. I decided not to, and the creaking/flexing got progressively worse. Then I realized that on the back edge on the volume rocker side, there was a gap wide enough to stick 2-3 pieces of paper in running all the way down. So, being the creative and lazy person I am, I decided to wrap the entire front bezel and a good half inch of the back in blue duct tape.

The creaking is still there, but no dust can get in now, less screen gunk wiping to do, easier to hold, and it looks like it's been colorwared (albeit badly). I'm planning on putting blue duct tape across the back as well, but have qualms as to whether or not the tape is going to mess up the tablet.

What's been your fixes (if any) for your beloved, slightly built-badly TF?

    Hi,
the best fix for you and all TF owners is for you to send it back to Asus for repair.

Money is tight for a lot of people at the moment, so quality is paramount if compamies want brand loyalty etc...

1.2 million TFs sold, and a few percent have problems.

But, do not get complaicent, and let them off the hook by doing your own fix.

I assume it is, in fact, has to be under warrenty, as it has not been in production for a year yet.

As most people that own a TF, they do not post, because it just works for them!!

Hope you get it sorted soon.

I had to remove my bezel and bend it in a few strategic spots to fix some flex and creaking. It's much better now. There is also a very annoying dust spot right smack dab in the middle of my screen (don't smoke kids, it's bad for your lungs and the ash finds its way into your electronics ) but it has yet to bother me enough to take my TF apart to remove it.

I typically will only RMA my products for actual hardware failure. Any annoyances I'll fix myself if it's within my abilities or learn to live with rather than be without the product for weeks. I love Asus products but their RMA process is a nightmare if my experience with their motherboards is any indication.
