Can I initiate a Droid update or firmware update?

Hello fellow transformers and Droidians. I purchased a new transformer about a month and a half ago.
I had a screen go bad on it 3-4 nights ago. Went toBest Buy and they replaced it for free. Props to Best Buy! :
Anyways, on my last transformer i received ths Android honeycomb update as well as a firmware update. The android update took
Place like immediately and a few days later igot the firmware update.
I have had my new transformer for three days now and have not received the notification for either update. Is this something i will have to do or just wait for or is there a way to initiate it? I am wondering ic I should continue to load my apps and software
Or if it would be better to wait until these updates have taken place.

Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone. (P.s. my first tablet and i love it. Awesome.)

P.s. I have tried the settins update option a couple of times. It states there are no updates.

There's no harm in trying - you can go to Settings > About Tablet > System Firmware Update > and then press the "Check Update" button to see if you get an update.

I guess i should have mentioned that i have tried the manual update method to no avail. It states there are no updates
Currently. I suppose ican just keep trying this method repeatedLY. I did not know if there was any other methods
    Or websites.

If you got the "App Backup" then it's the current update.

That was on my last Tablet. This Tablet has not had that update. That is my question and current predicament.

Well to follow up. I went to the ASUS website and registered my Tablet with them. A couple of hours went by and i have anotice for firmware updates.
I dont know if coincidence or not but, i received two firmware updates in a row. And i acquired a coupleof new apps. Tegra/app backup. I am pretty happy with ASUS.
