    No real difference you'll see.

That's what I thought at first, but the TF would only see 8GB on the card. I tried several times but still only 8gb. I searched on here for it and was told to reformat it in NTFS and that did the trick.

I should mention that this is happened when I was putting movies on the card.

Fat32 can only take files that are 4gb or smaller. NTFS does not have a size limit.

Not quite true. Maximum file size as implemented currently is 16 TB. Since you cannot buy a drive that large, it really does have no limit unless you purchase about ten 2 TB drives in a RAID 0 configuration.

The basics are that the higher the Class number, the faster the speed of storing and retrieving data from the card.

That said, I have used Class 6,8, and 10 cards for photos, video, and other content....and all worked fine.

In general, I recommend at least a Class 6 card, especially for video content. Currently, I have a 32GB Class 10 card I use, and all video plays flawlessly.

thanks for the info. i might reformat my 32gb to ntfs since i also read that fat32 is more prone to lost clusters and errors.

This is true but when are you ever going to find a file that is 16TB in size? Lol

    Best SD card option

Hello, I'm new and will be receiving a 32GB Transformer this coming week.
Thanks to whom every created this forum as it is helpful when starting up with a new product.

May I ask a few questions as a newbie?
I want to buy a mirco SD card to use with the transformer for movies and music

    1. What brand works best with the TF?
    2. While I would love a 64GB card they are still too expensive so I'm looking at 32GB cards which I feel are a better value, "about $50-$60". I this a good idea and fact?
    3. Amazon has deals on Lexar, Patriot and PNY cards with class 10 but all have some negative reviewers stating they had problems with the cards or failure.

I've never had a failure with an SD card personally but this is the first card I've read where class is important. Class 6 and up I understand.

    Thank you
