    Premature Ejection

Bought myself a 32gb microsd this week. Shoved 17gb of music on it and slotted into the docked tab. Then while I was getting on with something else I heard a pinging noise by some plastic pinball noises.

For some reason known only to the little green robot that lives in the tab, my card had been forcibly thrown from its slot and bounced off a back up drive and a printer before coming to rest on my desk. If there had been nothing stopping it, I'd estimate it would have travelled a good ten feet.

The spring mechanism that holds the microSD card is indeed "tricky" at times, especially for someone like me with fat fingers or for new users.

That said, I got the install process mastered pretty quickly, and have inserted new microSD cards without real problems since.

i agree even the standard sized sd on the dock does that. i also noticed that when you insert a real sd card there, the card is protruding. if you compare the size of the dummy sd card its a little shorter than the real ones.

My fingers are too big too. I always use something like the SD adapter that came with my micro card to pop it in all the way.

    Best thread title ever

I try never to remove the card. If I have short finger nails I can't get it in or out.

I had to do a double take there....I thought this thread was about something else...

Mine's popped out on its own once. However, I recognized that I hadn't actually pushed the card in far enough. I *thought* it was supposed to partly project out the side of the tablet...hence it wasn't actually fully in.

The SD card on my dock has popped out on its own a few times. I had thought it's because the way I put the unit into my bag. With the card side down and with the spring and all that it would pop out when I take it out of the bag. Never had it shoot through the air though.

Premature to you perhaps, but your Asus made it pretty clear she had enough!
