    USB Card reader not working

    USB Card Reader- Targus
Card- Compact flash SanDisk Ultra II 2.0 gb
    Android 3.2.1
    Kernel 2.6.36.3
    Build HTK75.US_epad-8.6.5.13-20110925
    Dock version EP101-0213

I am trying to get the usb card reader to work on the dock usb however it doesnt read it. The usb reader power light does not light up. The Card is one of those large compact flash cards (used on my canon rebel XT camera) so its doesnt fit into the transformer card reader. Do I have to install any specific drivers or an application to get this to work on my transformer?

You most likely do need a driver. At this point there are no drivers available for a non rooted TF.

Did you try restarting your Transformer (hold down power for several seconds to shut down completely, then turn on, you should see "Asus" appear on screen)? I noticed the other day that USB devices were not working, and had to restart. This has happened only since the most recent update from Asus. Jeffrey's solution is also a possibility, but just wanted to double check . . .

Another test would be to plug in a USB mouse or USB thumbdrive. If it doesn't work, most likely you just need to restart to fix this issue.

I also notice that when the docks battery level get down to around 20%, the usb ports stop working. Check your battery level, if it under 20%, that might be it also.

It should work, as they stated, try a reboot. I have to reboot my TF to get the dock USB ports working. This was fine prior to 3.2.1, but since then 95% of the time I need to reboot.

I had the same trouble, an SD card out of my Canon worked yet one out of mum's did not "read" or even show up as being inserted...so we then connected the camera via the usb to the dock and it worked that way...I also read somewhere that some cards need to be formatted...hope that helps...
